Europe Cruise in January
DH & I are looking to plan our 2nd anniversary trip for January and came across a european cruise that is perfect for us. The price is insanely low and so is the airfare, obviously i know it's going to be cold but obviously DH & I dont mind the cold be we both love the winter. My question is how cold will it be? Google searches showed it to be an average of 54 degrees which i dont think is bad at all, is this accurate?
The cruise would go from Rome and onto Palermo, Tunis, Palma, Barcelona, Marseile, Savona and back to Rome where we would spend a couple of days

Re: Europe Cruise in January
Keep in mind that you'll be on or near the water, so you'll have the wind chill to take into account too, and it'll be getting dark out earlier at night, so that could also effect the temperatures. But being in southern Europe like that, it might not be too bad...

Re: Europe Cruise in January
Europe just had a really cold winter. I can't imagine it being that way for another year in a row. I would say 40-50.
ETA: It is also Southern Europe, so it probably won't snow.

Re: Europe Cruise in January
We went last year on a cruise from barcelona through the mediterranean. It was cloudy most of the week. pretty chilly, 50s in spain, rome and greece, but it was fine walking around weather. Pack a poncho just in case. It poured when we went to turkey, really could have used ponchos there. Our cruise also went to Egypt and Malta, it was very warm there, 80s in egypt and 70s in Malta. Winter is a great time to visit Egypt, can't imagine how hot it is there in the summer! We were on NCL. Our kids used the pool on the ship, which was heated, but it was too windy for me. We used the jacuzzi. Have Fun!

Re: Europe Cruise in January
Since it will be in the South, it will be warmer (like 40-50)

Re: Europe Cruise in January
I've been to Europe in February, not January. I felt it was freezing. Been to London, Paris, Rome, Milan and Venice (all in February in different years).
i didn't have such a great time because I was too cold to enjoy the sights. I remember freezing my butt off at the Eiffel tower and staying inside the boats in venice. I couldn't even peep my head out because of the cold wind. Personally I love europe in the fall and spring best.
