Etiquette question
If my kid hit your kid - and you're inviting us to your kid's birthday party --- do I get your kid a small gift bc our kids don't like each other or a bigger gift to mitigate damages?

Re: Etiquette question
I would get what I would normally get. Kids will be kids and you have to accept they do crazy things (either on the giving or receiving side.) I think if you addressed the situation immediately, that's what is important.

I totally agree with this. Was the situation taken care of ? Im sure it was, knowing you As far as the party, I usually write the cards "from my kids" in kiddie handwriting, and make them scribble in them. maybe you can add, "Im sorry I hit you" if you wanted to address it, otherwise, dont even mention it... I guess it depends on how close you are and what the situation was.

go normal. But if your kids don't like each other...why are you going to the party?

Re: Etiquette question
I'm not sure what the proper etiquette is - I just know what I would do - and that is buy a BIG present.

Barbara, I got the joke I laughed out loud and the class coming into my room is looking at me as if I've finally lost it.
Depends, does the family have a lawyer on retainer?... PIMP

I'm agreeing with Nancy! Gosh, if I had to buy a bigger gift everytime Andrew hit or bit another kid at a playdate, I'd be broke!
It happens. I always feel so bad when it happens and apologize profusely, but I do also know that Andrew has no inkling he's being wrong, at his age....

Re: Etiquette question
No, he's invited to a slew of birthday parties in the next 2 months ---and he's mean to them. Actually I was joking when I wrote it - sometimes my sense of humor doesn't translate well...
