Estraderm patches?

So I put them on my upper buttucks area this am, around where you would do an IM shot. I did it after my shower. They have already slipped down a bit and left sticky stuff from the adhesive in the wakeChat Icon where is that puking icon? Are these things really goning to stay on through another shower and another day? Am I missing something? Am I doing it wrong?

Re: Estraderm patches?

I just read my info sheet from Schraft's- it says:
Do not open the sealed pouch container until ready to use. Open the pouch and remove the patch from the protective liner. Apply the patch to a clean, dry, hairless area as directed by your dr. ..... Avoid applying to the waistline since tight clothing may rub the patch off. Do not put the patch on areas where sitting may loosen it. It also says to apply new patches (when the time comes) to new areas to prevent skin irritation. If a patch falls off, reapply it or apply a new patch and wear it for the rest of the scheduled period.
HTH!!! Was your skin dry enough when you put it on? Maybe your clothing is irritating it?Chat Icon

Re: Estraderm patches?

I used these patches for my first ivf a couple of years ago and they NEVER stayed on. I had to use a variety of adhesive tape (cloth one worked best for me). I just put the adhesive around the perimeter of the patch right after opening it. You'd think they'd have improved them by now.

That, or duct tape!! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Estraderm patches?

I used to use the Birth Control patches which are essentially the same thing.
I found the best places to put them were either on my stomach or butt. Make sure your skin is really dry before putting it on. They do move a little, but they generally don't fall off.

I am having the EXACT same problem! They are constantly sliding and moving, and one actually came off in the shower! I do not like these things! Chat Icon

Re: Estraderm patches?

I just know there is something wrong with me LOL. When I used these patched on my last EPP, the last one stayed on and stayed on and stayed on...and finally I took it off after many days. It is like 2 months later...I still have a freaking mark on my arse. Adhesives and me, if only I could use this on my emby's.

Is it still on?

Re: Estraderm patches?

Well I lost both in the shower this morning. I tried them on my stomach this am to alternate like Shannon suggested. It seems to be working better. I will band aid them in the shower tomorrow, I think.

Man, I HATED those things, they were always slipping or peeling and I swear you could hear them bending as I walked around...Chat Icon

I alternated butt sides and stomach sides until I was done...I found they held on much better on the stomach than the butt - the band aids sound like a great idea!

I just have to tell you I switched from my butt to my stomach and I HATE them here!! Chat Icon They barely moved on my butt- here they've moved like 2 inches! And they keep making noises when I moveChat Icon Ugh! The day after tomorrow I can't put them in the same spot on my butt, right? I'm supposed to move them over a little?
