Error on birth certificate
We just got DD's birth certificate in the mail and it has an error! (wrong year of DH's bday) Has this happened to anyone else? What did you do?

You can go to the town clerk's office and show them proof that the birth certificate is wrong (probably your DH's birth certificate or driver's liscence.). Then they'll change it.

Both of my kids had my birthplace wrong. There should be instructions with the birth cert, but basically you call the town clerk's office who issued it, let them know the error, they will send you a form to complete and return with the original birth cert and you'll get an ammended one in the mail.
I can't tell you how long, mine took almost a year to fix since I was born out of state and NYS had an issue with the way that Colorado listed my city of birth.

I called the Town Clerk's office to get it corrected. They sent a new one out & for some strange reason I still kept the old one.
They misspelled DH's middle name.

Ha!  Thanks, I didn't even realize it!!
