Enlarged Ovaries
So i just got off the phone with my RE. He let me know that i do not have PCOS, however, my ovaries are enlarged which does not make me the best ovulator.
Does anyone else have any experience with this? He recommended IUI as the best way to go for us. I knew it was leading up to this but I guess its for real now.
Has nayone else been in the same boat? My RE said that most people with this problem respond very well with Clomid, but I have been on Clomid for 3 months now, the first two months with 50mg and this month with 100mg (unmonitored) and last month i went in for bloodwork on cycle day 21 to see if i ovulated and the test confirmed that even with the 50mg of clomid, ovulation wasn't strong enough.
When I start with my RE in April, do i mention that I'd like to start at the higher dose so i don't regress back to 50mg which did nothing for me? my RE already knows i am on clomid.

Re: Enlarged Ovaries
since you're starting to see a RE in April i'm assuming the other cycles you took clomid you were doing that at your OB? With a RE you will def be better monitored and if they see you're not responding well they will adjust. Have you had your consultation with the RE yet? At that first appt you will discuss what you did before and that it didnt work, so they might start you on a higher dose.
Good luck!

yes, i already had my consultationwith my RE and he knew that i was on clomid with my OB already and what doses. He wanted me to get a battery of tests done in March to rule everything out before I began in April.

Re: Enlarged Ovaries
If you're not poly cystic how are your ovaries enlarged? Do you have a fibroid or endo? Were they enlarged from stimulation from clomid?
You can be symptomatic of PCOS, like anovulation, etc and not necessarily have cysts on your ovaries.

that's good....if your RE already has all that info they might already have a protocol set up for you where you will start with a higher dose or maybe even try a different med.
