Ending the last BF session question
I am working on completely weaning my 13mo DD from BF. Right now we are down to only a morning session. She takes a bottle from me/anyone else just fine. My concern is actually for myself, not her! When I cut that last session out, will it be painful? How long does it take to completely dry up? I obviously am not producing much milk in the first place and I'm ready to be done, but I think I'm afraid it's going to hurt since she won't be removing milk any more. Any words of wisdom from BTDT moms?

Not BTDT but I've heard cabbage leaves in your bra.

Ending the last BF session question
I didn't have any issues or pain after weaning. We were down to just nights and I started giving her a sippy of milk before nursing so maybe that helped. I think my supply was pretty low by then anyway.

This. We weaned the last feeding between 13 and 14 months

Ending the last BF session question
No problem at all for me. I was only doing night as well; and just didn't do it one night. I remember waking up a little full that morning but not painful. eventually the milk just dried up..

Ending the last BF session question
I didn't really have a problem. I was also down to one session before bed and was pretty certain one side wasn't producing at all. I managed to go about 3 days without nursing before I felt any pain and it was only on one side. My DD nursed one last time that morning, which relieved the pain for me and that was it.

Re: Ending the last BF session question
I just stopped for good last week & didn't have a problem stopping. I leaked a tiny bit once a few days after my last time pumping, but otherwise no discomfort or pain. I think being down to only one session a day, your body just isn't making enough anymore to really hurt much when you stop.

Re: Ending the last BF session question
I weaned at 26 months, but we were down to 1 session before bed. I had no issues (but was also 1 month pregnant.) As long as you cut it out gradually you should be fine. I heard mint can help dry you up as well.
I cried the first time she went to sleep w/o nursing. (May have been pregnancy hormones at play).

This ^^
I was down to once a day (mornings) by 13 months and when I cut it out, the first couple of days were fine and then I was completely full. I did cabbage leaves and I was dried up within a few days.
