Re: Embryo Glue
What? I never heard of this
ETA: When I went for my transfer last week the embryologist said he put extra glue on it ... umm I figured he was just kidding, but now who knows I'll let you know if his "glue" worked in a few days!
(and yes, I know he was just kidding)

Re: Embryo Glue
I asked my doctor about this when I was poised to have the IVF, and he said it was silly.
I don't know much about it otherwise.

Re: Embryo Glue
What does it do?.If an embryo is meant to "stick" it will, no glue needed

Re: Embryo Glue
ECF, where In had two IVF cycles, uses embryo glue. I think it's a protein-based solution that the embryos sit in to supposedly make them stickier.

I guess the big question is whether ur cycles were successful; don't want to waste money but also don't want to diminish my chances::??

Re: Embryo Glue
They didn't give me a choice at ECF because they always use it, but I had one IVF pregnancy that ended in miscarriage and the other IVF was not successful. I am currently pregnant from my third IVF - no embryo glue this time!
I read a little about it and it seems that most doctors believe it does not make embryos any more or less likely to stick - that really has more to do with the quality of the embryo and how viable it is. It's just one of those things that may possibly be helpful, but has not really been proven yet. Good luck with your choice!

I asked my dr about this at my last appointment for my good friend and was told it was an extra way to make $ (or something similar) but that the dr didn't put any stock in it.

Re: Embryo Glue
So I decided against the "glue" and would much rather spend my money on storage for my eggs. The are now thinking my retieval will be on Sunday...
