Elimination Diet Moms (dairy)
How long did it take for you to notice even the slightest difference? Thanks

Re: Elimination Diet Moms (dairy)
We eliminated all milk/diary products from DDs diet for one month and then gradually introduced milk/dairy products back.

Re: Elimination Diet Moms (dairy)
took me a while since I was still eating hiddne dairy - I figured my whole wheat toast with PB for breakfast was perfect...no so much since the bread was made with milk! Make sure you carefully read all labels! But it would be at least 2-3 weeks before noticing a difference. Takes a while for dairy to get out of your body and the babies!

I eliminated both dairy and gluten. It took 2 weeks to see a difference.

If there is no improvement could it be something else?

Re: Elimination Diet Moms (dairy)
I would continue to try it. It took my DD a month off to show any improvement. Some people are lucky and will see improvement sooner, but they gave a 1 month time frame because it can take that long for some kids. I would rather do it once the "right" way than need to revisit it and have all your hard work for naught. Good luck!

Have you cut juice? That gives my DD tummy aches. I only give watered down juice. Try cutting that out.

Re: Elimination Diet Moms (dairy)
It could be dairy alone, or dairy plus something else. I would recommend eliminating gluten, corn and soy in addition to the dairy. I hope everything works out!

After reading more about the juice, I def. want to eliminate that. It may sound crazy, but I don't want to eliminate both dairy and juice at the same time, bc then I wont know which one was causing the problem. This is my next step.

I would still do it. The idea is to also make him comfortable. If he stops being in pain then in a month you could slowly work the juice back in and if he reacts again you know it is the juice. That is how my allergist and ped said you could do it. But if you reintroduce the juice with no reaction you know it was the milk.

When we put my DD on it we cut her to the very basics. Chicken, steak, carrots, potatoes, lettuce, apples, cheerios, bananas, we did keep her on soy but you could cut it out. If you think it is gluten you could pick a grain or cereal that is gluten free and you can cut out the soy if that is a concern. She had bananas and cheerios for breakfast, chicken or turkey for lunch with fruit and carrots. Dinner she ate chicken drumsticks with carrots and I sliced up potatoes into thin slices and baked them in the oven with olive oil and salt and pepper. We had also tried to cut out preservatives and dyes so food was as little processed as possible. Wasn't interesting but she felt better and after a while the allergist would ask what we wanted to add and we introduced that item for several days to make sure of no reaction ( like grapes, pears, pineapple, peanut butter) we were able to make things she enjoyed even if it was simple.

This exactly.
It's completely worth trying, today.
