Janice's son has asthma. She has been through it all with her cutie-pie son. She'd be a great person to ask.

Re: eddiesmommy or anyone else that has kids with asthma
hi there! So soory, it sucks, I know. Ds doesnt have traditional asthma, he has cough variant, so its different in that it doesnt constrict his airways but presents as a hacking cough so much so that he cant catch his breath.
DS is on singulair and a nebulizer for his.
As far as around the house.....dust and vacuum frequently, we do it every other day. Keep her room as bare as possible. Remove carpeting if possible (not possible for us) We have anti-allergen pillow cases and mattress covers. We run an air purifier in his room and a large one in the living room.
Does her have triggers??

Allergies , colds, and being overactive trigger hers. I can't rip out the carpet since I rent ,but it is one of those thin ones which is better than the fluffy ( I guess lol) ,but everything else you mentioned I can do !! What air purifier do you have? Was it alot of $$$ ( just wan't to prepare myself ! Thank you

This is a great book with ideas on how to get toxins out of your home. They make many references to asthma and how many kids' asthma are due to toxins they breathe. We can't eliminate everything, but this book is a great way to start!
