Eating out with LO
What age did your LO sit in a high chair at a restaurant? My DH and I have a gift card to applebees and were thinking of using it. Our DD is 8 months old and we have a high chair cover.

Eating out with LO
I avoided high chair as long as possible. I just found it more convenient to use the infant carrier.

Around 7 months I think. He also needed a blanket behind him at first to help keep him more upright.

Re: Eating out with LO
Once they were eating table food they went in the high chair, much easier to entertain them that way

Re: Eating out with LO
We ate out with DD from a few weeks old, she just stayed in the stroller. But once she was sitting well totally unassisted (around 7-8 months) we put her in the high chair when we ate out.

My DS is also 8mths and I think he would be fine sitting by himself in a highchair at the restaurant.

Eating out with LO
about a year old. But it helps a lot if it has a working seatbelt. I've found that a lot of them don't, and then baby climbs out and tries to get on the table... if there is room they can also sit in their stroller.

Re: Eating out with LO
Since she was able to sit up, so around 6 months. At 8 months, she should be fine! Bring a few toys to keep her occupied :)

Re: Eating out with LO
6 months. We had a high chair cover that was very smushy and could prop him up.
That being said, if there was ANY chance he would sleep we left him in the stroller.

I do the same. The tray is way better to have for food, toys & to keep ds contained. I also feel better knowing that what he's touching is clean. I have also put this sideways facing me in a booth him on th inside seat so there would be no way of tipping).

Eating out with LO
Around 7 months she sat in the restaurant high chair with the boppy cover. She loves to be out so as long as we don't stay out late she does great!

Once they were eating table food we used the high chair.
We've gone out since the beginning and just kept them in the infant carrier and snap and go if they weren't able to go into the highchair.

Us, too. Exactly. We NEEDED to get out of the house in the beginning and would take DD with us to the Diner, to a bagel cafe, etc. We'd usually time it for when she was sleeping and panic if she woke up (but she would always just play with the toys hanging off the handlebar and be fine). When she was 6 months old and sat well, we'd put her in the high chair at the restaurant.
GET THESE:
(or a more gender-neutral version, haha). You stick them to the restaurant table and put your LO's food right on it, like you would on her own high chair at home. No need for plates (which they'll pick up and throw) or worrying about putting food on a table of questionable cleanliness.

Re: Eating out with LO
As soon as she was out of the infant carrier- so around 9 months I guess.
It was very very hard for us to go ANYWHERE in the beginning because she cried and screamed pretty much 24/7 and never slept. So it all sounded good about getting out and taking them out from the start- but when you have a colic baby that is screaming in a restuarant- it's really not very relaxing or fun

Re: Eating out with LO
Maybe 5 months.
We used high chair cover with #1. With #2, we are a lot more laid back.
If the high chair looks gross, we wipe it down.
DC have never gotten sick from a high chair (lots of colds from playing with school age cousins and going to "play areas").

Re: Eating out with LO
At about 7 months. Bring Puffs! Or Cheerios. Anything that keeps their hands busy while you're not feeding them. It's also not a bad idea when they're that young to time your meal for when they need a bottle. Anything to keep them busy and quiet so you can sit at the table long enough to order and finish your meal.
When my DD was 8 months old we took her to the diner, Panera, etc. at least every other week.
Haha, oops, looks like I already answered this one two weeks ago. Don't know why the thread was resurrected but apparently I feel strongly about it.
