Easel for toddler? Too young ?

Do you think a 17 month old is too young for an easel? She loves magnets and I figured this would be great for her but I see the age starts at 3 years old on some of the easels. At what age did you buy your dc an easel? TIA

DD was little- not quite 2 I think- I got her a cheap plastic one-maybe FP? and she loved it. She was into painting and using the magnetic letters. When she outgrew it I bought a pricey wood one she does not use as much.

ETA- it was like this one. My DD has always been tall for her age so fit was no problem.

My ILs just got one for DD at their house. DD is 19 months and she had a blast with it. They got it at Ikea and it's pretty big but she could reach it no problem.

DS is getting one for xmas. He will be 21 months. I got him an easel to desk conversion one so I figure even if he doesn't play with it much now it is something he can grow into.

Someone bought DD one for her first birthday. We set it up around 16 months. She loved it. We just made sure to stock it with washable crayons only as sometimes she didn't keep the color on the paper. She's almost 3 now and still using it.

ETA: We have the Ikea easel, too.

We got one for dd for Christmas. I can't wait to give it to her. We were at a friend's house recently and we couldn't pull her away from their easel. She was obsessed. I think 17 mo is a perfect age for it (that's how old dd is!)
