Early Pregnancy Bloat?
Does anyone know why you get bloated so early on?
I *think* I am about 5-6 weeks along. I know for sure I can't be more than 6 weeks. Last night, out of nowhere, I looked pregnant I was like and this morning it's still there! I am not constipated and I went #2 yesterday (TMI ) so I know it's not that. If I suck in it goes away but otherwise it looks like I am pushing my stomach out. I have a very tiny waist - when I got maried it was 23inches and it was probably still very close to that up until last night I feel like for me this bloating is very noticeable since my stomach is usually more sunken in.
What's up with this? I've heard other people say they got bloated in the beginning too. Is there a reason why this happens? It's just weird and freaking me out I really want a baby bump but not a fake one!

Re: Early Pregnancy Bloat?
I am going to be 5 weeks on Monday and had a couple days of being bloated. It was horrible. I haven't had the bloating feeling in a couple of days and was hoping that was the end of it. I keep sucking it in also but it doesn't work like it used to.

Re: Early Pregnancy Bloat?
It's very strange. I've gotten bloated before - like around AF or if I was constipated but this is different.
I googled and it said the horomone progesterone makes you bloated...I guess that is why?
http://www.whattoexpect.com/pregnancy/symptoms-and-solutions/bloating.aspx What causes bloating during pregnancy: It almost seems that your jeans start to feel snug as soon as the pregnancy test comes back positive — and you can thank the hormone progesterone for that puffy phenomenon. While progesterone is essential for maintaining a healthy pregnancy (it is, after all, the pro-gestation hormone), it also triggers that oh-so-delightful trio: bloating, burping, and farting. Why? Progesterone causes the smooth muscle tissue in your body (including the gastrointestinal tract) to relax. This slows down digestion, giving the nutrients from food you eat more time to enter your bloodstream and reach your baby. That's the good news. The bad news is this slower metabolism can cause bloating.

I have been burping like crazy and have had so much gas. Thanks for posting this. Now I know where it is coming from. I thought I was eating something that I had to change.
