Ear thermometers

I would like to know if anybody has had better success with an ear thermometer rather than rectal and, if so, what brand do you use. We are thinking of getting an ear thermometer for the obvious ease of taking a temp without the hassle of the changing table.

I have one - I was planning on using it first, and then if that showed a fever or was close, then taking a rectal temp - but it doesn't fit in DD's ear - it's too big - so we just got a temporal thermometer and will see how that goes. I haven't yet had occasion to use it.

We have one and it's very difficult to take DS' temp with it. Like PP, it's too big for his ear. He also tends to move his head a lot so it wouldn't work anyway.
