The economy sucks and sadly people are REALLY desperate.

WOW!!!
When I saw the post my first thought was a kid is playing a prank because it's Regents week and they figure they'll get the test cancelled (which wouldn't work, BTW).
So scary. I wonder if this is the same serial robber that was on the news yesterday.

I work around the corner from the hospital where they caught the first guy. My coworkers just came in and said there is money all over the street!!!

DH called and told me that there are 2-3 helicopters flying LOW by our house!! I kbnow DD is okay in the school, but I am still worried !!
ETA: the phone number for EM schools for emergency's like these ISN'T UPDATED ! ! ! ! I am sitting here at work, wondering what the HE*L is going on and have NO IDEA !

I was wondering what was going on. I passed by earlier and saw channel 7 and channel 2 news at NUMC along with tons of cops and helicopsters flying around. That's scary.

IT is alllll ok now
I am a teacher in EMHS across the street from the hospital where these 2 @ssholes were. We were in lockdown.
The situation is over they caught one guy in the hospital parking garage hiding under the car!!(supposedly)
I am sure they got the other guy or they wouldnt release us from the school
Freaking Scary though! with all the police and helicopters around!! And seeing the news in our parking lot of the school
We had to stay away from all window in case they point a gun at us and make us to let them into the school

my sis KDELACE was in lockdown for a few hours. She teaches 3rd grade...
Do people really think they can get away with robbing banks nowadays?

I wonder this as well. There are so many things how they can catch these people.
Banks are robbed by me often. There was one last week. Armoured cars are really popular to rob. They have a certain schedule, even I know when they come, so how can someone not do it? Luckily, guns are illegal here (Australia), so most of the robberies aren't done with guns, and they wouldn't kill you here, although they would hurt you.

I was one of the teachers in lockdown for about 3 1/2 hours along with all other schools in East Meadow.
All windows have to be locked and shades down so there was absolutely no air in the classroom. good times!!!
We werent allowed to leave even for lunch and noone was allowed in. We were getting our info via texts from the outside world.
Our third grade outdoor end of the year party was postponed.. Try telling that to 100 3rd graders.. no outdoor Not fun... but it is for the children's safety.
Not sur eif anyone heard but in Bkyn days before a bank robbery took place and one of the perps went into an elementary school. Its scary. I wish parents would understand that even though its a scary situation, being in a lockdown is safe for the kids and they are being well taken care of...
