Dutch Wonderland
We are going to take DD (will be 26 months at the time) to Dutch Wonderland in June. We live on LI. How many days should we plan. From what I have heard/read DW is a 1 day thing.
What else can/should we do on the way there/home?
Thanks!
So excited...this is our first family trip!

Re: Dutch Wonderland
We went last summer and DD was almost 26 months at the time...we stayed in Lancaster and got there Monday afternoon and stayed until Thursday afternoon. We did local stuff the first day, Dutch Wonderland the second, drove 30 minutes to Hershey the third day and then did the outlets there on the last day.

Re: Dutch Wonderland
We did the preview night before and then a half day the second day and would definitely do it that way again. It was nice to split it up.

Re: Dutch Wonderland
We did 1 full day at Dutch Wonderland and 1 day at Strasburg Railroad, took a ride on the train which was really nice.

Re: Dutch Wonderland
We went for 2 nights. The day we got there we just hung out at the hotel kid's splash area. She loved it. The next day we did DW. We got there when it opened and were done by like 3 pm- DD wasn't a huge fan of the rides but we did the waterpark in DW Then back to the hotel pool area again The next day breakfast and we got on the road. It was perfect for us

Re: Dutch Wonderland
We went when DS was 32 months old and were there 4 nights. We arrived later in the day so the 1st day we had dinner and spent time outside playing on hotel grounds. Then did 1 day Thomas/Strasburg, 1 day DW, 1 day Amish things. It was great! Going again this June but probably for less time. It's a great family vacation.

Same. Can't imagine going more than that. It's like a bigger version of Adventureland.

My kids love rides so would go for a week if I let them
There are a lot of other things to do in the area, so I would say 2 nights is plenty. You don't have to do the free preview the night before you plan to spend the whole day. You could do it a couple days later (or a couple months lol).

We actually used it later in the week bc the next day rained. It's a pretty cool deal.
