Laptops get hot as it is..I wouldn't stay out too long.
ETA: This is just my opinion. I know nothing about laptops

Just try and keep the screen away from the sun. That will minimize the wash-out effect, and minimize the heat on the screen.
Also, if the laptop gets really hot outside, try not to bring it directly into a really cold A/C room. Computers don't like going from really hot to really cold.
