Re: duggar interview
I did. I couldn't believe what I was hearing. They basically did next to nothing at first which allowed Josh to go back and continue to molest those girls. Then, their genius answer to this problem is to send him away to work on a house and get a "stern" talking to. Seriously???
I'm sorry, the guy is sick. You don't just "get over" wanting to inappropriately touch little children. It's a sickness, something isn't right in the brains of people like Josh because normal, functioning teens and adults don't EVER even have that impulse. EVER!!! The fact that he did it repeatedly means he is capable of doing it again, I don't think that impulse just "goes away". I've said it before, his dizzy a$$ wife should pay REAL CLOSE attention to his interactions with his own daughter because it would not be out of the realm of possibility for him to inappropriately touch her too. People who molest children can't help themselves, there is something wrong with them. The ONLY way I'd believe he'd NEVER do it again was if we heard he had INTENSE therapy for years to address and correct the problem which we all know, he did NOT have. I'd be watching him like a hawk is I was his wife, Anna.
I think it's sad that as parents they allowed this to continue, to their own daughters no less, and now have these poor girls defending Josh and making it seem like it was all "no big deal". And then to say on national TV that it's all "OK" because God forgave him??!!!....................really??!! Isn't that just so nice and sweet that all is right with the world and this child molester because he "asked for forgiveness". So despicable. Being religious and believing in God doesn't make your problems all just go away, there is something WRONG with him. It was hard to listen to them excusing his sick behavior because he was not *technically* an adult. Sorry, but as I've said in other threads, 15 years old is WITHOUT A DOUBT old enough to know BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT that you keep your hands OFF of little kids. You don't even need to be told that to KNOW it's completely wrong.
Overall, I think that interview made them look even worse than before and it just showed everyone how poorly they handled the whole thing. Josh is disgusting and I feel so bad for these poor girls who had to be put through this, made to think it was "no big deal"according to their parents, and never got the help they needed to heal.

Re: duggar interview
I swore I would not watch but I did catch about 15 minutes in the middle and had turn it off because I was so disgusted by them. There seemed to be no concern for the girls, just Josh and his 'soft heart'.

duggar interview
I didn't watch it, but heard some clips and discussion on tv this morning. Did they really downplay what he did because the girls were sleeping when he touched them?!?!?! Umm. . . maybe if they were aware of it they would have made him stop - just a thought! And if that's the case, then according to their reasoning, a woman who is raped when passed out drunk shouldn't really have anything to complain about wither, right. Unbelievable!

Yep!!.......and because it was just over their clothes. They were so flippant about it, like it wasn't really a big thing because it was OVER their clothes. But then later they slipped and right after they said it was just over the clothes they admitted there were actually a few times he went under. He's such a creeper and they are in such denial.

Agree agree agree. On all counts!! Sick sick sick. He needs help, not Jesus. If I was his wife, I would run away with my kids. She's a dumb as the rest of them. Completely brainwashed into thinking that the girls are the problem and poor Joshy just counldnt help himself. It angers me so much that these people are so defensive of him.

Re: duggar interview
I didn't watch it. had a huge debate with my dh's friend who didn't think it was a big deal.
So my questions was, if you had a 5 or an 8 or a 10 even 12 year old daughter, then it would have been ok for your 15 year old son to touch them in that way?
It's just not ok..
these people are so delusional. They need to catch their spaceship on a comet...

What is scary is that based on morning news shows today some people actually said they think the parents did what they should have : sought therapy, clergy and went to police.
Just the sheer message that is coming across "they dealt with it and it was in the past" is so wrong. And when you make your lives public how can you complain that records were released and people are talking now!? What did they expect??

I didn't watch it, but ITA with all of this!!! There must be something wrong with Anna, or marrying him and having children with him!!! Always thought there was something "off" about this family.

Re: duggar interview
Here's an interesting take from a tv critic: Link- WaPo
I've read some articles about the interview and the comments are mind boggling in the number of people who've said things like, "what teenage boys DON'T cop a feel on other girls, including their sisters" and "He was just getting into some juvenile mischief"
I have two brothers who got into every kind of juvenile mischief possible at the time- and neither ever copped a feel on me.

I hate to say this, but I agree with PP that there is something wrong in the mind of a person who will molest a child. And to me, it could mean that he himself was molested as a child. It could also be reason why the parent did not go to authorities sooner -- bc they did not want to be found out!
