due date past...
And still no baby. I went to the dr. today and I am maybe a cm dilated. My cervix is still long. They said If I wanted to be induced I could. I said I will let them know. I went home and thought about it and called them to say if she doesnt come in a day or so I will get induced and they made me come back in. I went back in and then they told me I am not dilated enough! I spent over 3 hours in that office today. I am so frustrated!

I am so sorry. I am sure this is totally frustrating and upsetting.
They said you aren't dilated enough to be induced? So does that just mean more waiting for your little love to come n her own?
I am so so sorry this is happening and I hope she makes some moves soon!

Yup! I have to get two internals and go in twice today because I was given the wrong information. My crouch hurts so bad I can hardly walk. I got told its bc my cervix is too long. Then I get told well its only one day past your dd...like its no big deal! I know it isn't a big deal but have some compassion.
If my husband wasn't already on his leave I wouldn't be so upset but he had to take vacation days and it had to be scheduled in. So everyday is just one more day he wont be able to be with us after she comes out :(

Ugh that makes it even worse!
Hopefully the internals will have started things moving! Have you tried all of the old wives tales??

This is like my 10th internal and they hurt more and more each time.
I have piled on hot sauce (which I was convinced that worked with my son but not this time.
I had 1/2 a pineapple.
a whole eggplant lol
Tried sex which hurt
Had berries
They did the membrane thing today which was really painful.
So far nothing!

due date past...
im 3 days past my due date and frustrated as well! my dr. said he will induce one week past my due date which is this friday. as of last thursday the baby still hadnt dropped, i was not dilated nor effaced. i just really wish i had some progress before friday. i go back to the dr. tomorrow and im really hoping something changed.
i've been going for long walks, having sex and had professional and DH foot rubs! something has to work!

Sounds exactly where I am.... it sucks! With DS I went four days early. Its so frustrating! Hang in there!

This might sound strange but have you tried nipple stimulation? Look it up online. Its time consuming and a little weird but I think it works - I did it with my DS and went into labor that night and I've had friends who tired it and went into labour very soon after.

That's weird that they wouldn't be able to induce you. It shouldn't really matter how much you're dilated or long your cervix is. I guess it depends on the doctor. Some jump at inducing while others may be cautious about it. Either way, hope the baby comes soon!

Have they offered to strip your membranes? (it hurts but can get things going). I had this done and my water broke 2days later.
This time around I'd declining internals and stripping of membranes...it will happen when she is ready. I know your tired and frustrated but why do Dr give you internals when they mean nothing???? Your past due so why not induce with that fact alone? I would'nt get another internal and demand induction if your that late and uncomfortable and SORE!!!!! ugg good luck

It probably has to do with the fact that in first time Moms, inducing when the cervix is not dilated or effaced enough will most likely lead to a C-section.
OP, have you tried Indian or Chinese food? I've been put into labor by eating a spicy dish from either. May be worth trying!
