Re: due date
My dr just went off of the date of my last period. I did measure a few days behind in the beginning, but was told that it was within the margin of error so they never changed it.

Re: due date
After the 1st 2 sonos or so I think they just calibrated the machine to match my lmp, and everything has been measuring according to that date. I was told being off by a few days either way was normal.

due date
If you know 100% the day you conceived you can go off of that and it should be accurate.
Mine went back and forth from 2/13 to 2/18 a few times. They had it as 2/13 for a while and one of my doctors started talking about being concerned there were growth issues so I basically told them the first dates DH and I actually "tried" that month they realized the earliest the baby could be due was actually 2/18.
But other than knowing the actual date you conceived they will go off of the date of your last period.

due date
I have very irregular long cycles so my due date was 100% based off the measurement at my sono at around 8 weeks. Apparently that is most accurate for calculation. So whenever the baby measured 8 weeks, the due date you'd generate from that is your due date. But it's called an "estimated due date" for a reason.
This time, I had 3 dates in January I could've conceived and the OB said it was the latest one that matched with the baby's measurement at my first sono. Although it has changed slightly in measurements since then (I grow short babies with giant heads -- the head measures a week ahead but the length measures a few days behind) my EDD has stayed the same.
With DD, the OB calculated backwards and said I conceived roughly on CD47 and got my BFP on CD63. They did my EDD based on the 8 w sono and she was born exactly one day early. So someone did a great job with that estimate!

Do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?
Baby center puts your EDD at 4/2 based on conception 7/10 (since that's when the sperm met the egg, that's what I plugged in).

Re: due date
Most babies aren't born on their due dates anyway, so a range of 5 days or so is a pretty good estimate of when your baby will be born. My original due date was given after my first sono at 6 weeks by measuring the growth of the embryo since my cycles were irregular. But then after my 12 week sono, my due date was pushed back a week because the doctor said that the 12 week sono is when they get the most accurate idea of how far along you are. And even then my doctor told me it's just an estimate and even though he gave me a due date I have to be prepared that the baby could come earlier or later.

Re: due date
I always thought they determined it by the date of your last period, but I have no clue. Originally our due date was March 8th, but when we went for our first sono they changed it to Feb. 25th.

Re: due date
Just because that's the day you had sex doesn't mean that's the day you concieved. Sperm can live for a few days And as pp said you can't conceive before you ovulate

wow ok conception 101 lol thanks... yes i used the smiley one but gave dr the dates originally of dtd and getting positive opk so he should figure out due date from that but well see ... a week span is fine for me i just dont know on here whether to put myself on march or april list snd i cant plug in my actual due date for countdown tickers bc i dont have one specific date. but i guess ill just use estimate or wait till next scan . thanks!!!
