Re: Due Date?
Yeah, they don't tell you til you get pregnant that you are really pregnant for 10 months
I'm serious. From my LMP of 7/27/06, I am due 5/3/07.

Re: Due Date?
Yep!! Little known fact that most pregnancies are 40 weeks/10 months.
It was a surprise to me when I found out!!

Re: Due Date?
yes but 40 weeks is not exactly 10 months. each month is not exactly 4 weeks (28 days) so it is less than 10 months but more than 9...get it?

Re: Due Date?
For some reason this issue really bugs me too! With DD I was due 9/5. My LMP was 11/29 and I am pretty sure I conceived on 12/12.
In my calculations that makes it 1 week shy of a complete 9 months (She was born on 9/7 and I was 40 weeks, 2 days). Only if you are overdue do you actually start getting into your 10th month and even at that...no one ever gives birth at a complete total 10 months--that would make you a month late. So for me...Pregnancy=9 whole months!

Re: Due Date?
Yeah its 40 weeks - almost 10 months. They calculate from you LMP, which is actually about 2 weeks before conception. Technically you are only actually PG for 38 weeks, but that is not how they calculate it. If you would have gone from the date of conception it would be only 38 weeks from that day. Make sense?

Re: Due Date?
I guess it makes sense (kind of) but it is annoying for the family I have told to be asking me the due date and I say mid-Sept. and they are like "NO! Thats 10 months!"

this is right - they start at the first date of your cycle that you are preparing for pregnancy - shedding the older liner, creating a new one, etc
