Dude, NOT Cool!

so i left my place alittle after 3pm to go to the dentist.....

i get back about 4:45 and notice tools on the floor in the kitchen, the outlets been opened up and the fuse box is open. weird. also odd was my dogs water dish was full of sutt/debris. so i look around and nothing else looks suspicious but i do notice someone smoked a ciggerette as i saw ash in the bathroom sink.

so i call my boyfriend and he said he came home for a quick second. i told him "oh, i was wondering who was here". i didnt mention the tools or outlet or anything.

so i sit down on the couch to check my email and then i planned on undressing to take a nap before work.

well, right before i start to get nudey i here keys jingling in the door. i thought to myself "ok, weird, i JUST spoke to Gam a minute ago, wouldnt he mention he was coming right back?"

in walks this little asian dude!!!!!!! no knock, nothing! i assume he is the landlord b/c he was asian and we have no hot water as of yesterday.

so i immediatly text Gam (BF) that theres some dude here and he didnt knock, i think its the landlord.

so he calls back and i explained how when i got home there were tools and stuff. so he had been there and come back.

its great he fixed the water, but im really upset he didnt knock! or call!


maybe im overreacting? BF is pizzed though

I don't think they are allowed in your apartment without notifying you in advance.

Well, I'm thinking that when he first came to your place, he knocked, didn't hear anyone, so he entered your place and started his repairs. He perhaps forgot something, so he decided to step out to get whatever it is he need and went back into your place without thinking that anyone was at your place?

Either way, it's creepy.

That would really freak me out. I thought they could only let themselves into your apt. in an emergency. Regardless they should call to let you know they will be in your apt. while your not home and ABSOLUTELY knock before entering your apt. I would try to talk to the landlord or board about it.

Regardless if he is landlord or not, you have belongings in there. He should not have taken it upon himself to enter your home and get busy.

Besides the fact that he shouldn't be smoking in your home without asking first. I'd be really pizzed about that!

I don't even think they are allowed to enter your apt with out notifying you. WE had this issue in our apt complex. I called the main office and threw a fit and ever since we have been notified before someone enters our apt.

pretty sure that legally, they have to give notice they are coming into your place. not cool at all!
