DSs 1st bday is on memorial day- wwyd?
We were planning on having his party on either Sat May 28 or Sun May 29, but now I'm worried that people (more of our friends who have kids) won't be able to come and could be away. We dont have too many kids that would come in general so I would hate for some not to be able to make it.
Should we consider doing the weekend before or after?
Do a lot of people really go away this weekend? Idk bc we never have.

DS's b-day is May 28th. His first birthday was last year and we did it on the 29th (it's a Saturday)
No issues at all with kids. Everyone came and I think pple with young kids were happy to have something to do. Not a lot of my friends with LO's wanted to go away since they're still young. WE had a big party in the backyard with entertainment. About 19 kids.
WE also had a friend's b-day party the next day, which was a pool party. It turned out to be a great weekend for parties with kids b/c there's something to do rather than travel and sit in traffic.
ETA - I did mention to my friends early on to give them a heads up and sent out the invites a little early

Dd first bday is on the 24th and we are planning it for the 21st. We didn't want to do it mem. Day weekend b/c I feel that a holiday when people have set plans and the same thing everyyear!

I would try and do it the week before or after but that's just me. It's one of those big holidays where a lot of people have set plans and unless everyone lives really close, traffic could also be an issue.
