DS rolled over last night and I now have a question
So DS rolled over last night in his crib. I am so happy that he hit this milestone but now I am freaking out. He kept waking me up all night because he had his face in the mattress and I guess after a while he wanted to be on his back again and needed help.
I don't think he realized to move his head sideways. His face was always in the mattress. Is this normal? How do I get him to face his head sideways when he is on his belly?

I have the same problem with the twins I watch. I still swaddle them when they nap so they don't roll over.
Congrats on the milestone!!!!

Re: DS rolled over last night and I now have a question
I would give him plenty of tummy time during the day so he can practice... Not much you can do except go in and roll him over until he figures out how to do it himself... It won't be long

ITA - this is great advice! Definitely lots of tummy time so that he gets used to turning his head and overall being in that position.

Thanks.
We do tummy time with him but he never puts his head to the side. He always holds it up. I will practice this with him all weekend long. DH told them at daycare today so they can work with him as well.

ITA too! This is what we had to do too. He should get the hang of it in no time

How long did it take to get your DC to do this? I am so nervous about his face being in the mattress

The fact that he pushes his head up is great! He's on the right track! The more time he has to play on his tummy the more it will naturally come to him to move from side to side. It's just a matter of time and opportunity - keep with it and great idea to have daycare work on it too!!!
