DS fell on the concrete last night and hit his head...

I'm still a litle shaky about it. We were next door at my mom's. He was outside walking with my mom while I was inside. I went to get him his sippy cup with water. Anyways I go back outside and I see my mom with DH and DS. All of a sudden I see him fall backwards and hit the ground...You heard the "clump" when he hit the ground... Usually when he looses his balance and falls he falls on his tooshy. But this time it was straight through. It looked like the leaning tower of pisa falling...It just happened in a split second and it was an accident so I don't blame my mom or DH. The problem is that now that he's walking a little better he thinks he can move really fast... So he looses his balance quicker that way...

So of course he was hysterical crying. My heart was beating fast. Then he calmed down when he saw my nephew come outside and was laughing at him. So he got over it quickly thank goodness...

No bumps on the head either...Thank God! I was worried because the back of his head really hit the pavement. I know that accidents will happen and he will get hurt many times but this was the first time he's ever fallen like that outside and it scared me...

I know the children usually forget and keep going but the Mothers have guilt..

Well i'm over the shock of seeing and hearing it happen but now the "what if's" are popping into my head. What if it was worse! What if he cracked his head! It really was a scary fall to see.

I'm ok but now will be extra paranoid when he's outside. But I Thank God that he is ok and that's the important thing. Best part is I thought he would be scared to walk again later on but no there he was half an hour later walking around and not wanting to take my hand...
