Dry Heels

The heels of my feet are painfully dry and cracked...(I've been slacking on the self pedicures...) I scrubbed the heck out of them with a pumice stone last night... but they are still very rough and dry

What kind of cream works best for this?

Re: Dry Heels

I use 3 different foot lotions from Bath and Body works and totally see a difference if I use it on a daily basis.

Re: Dry Heels

Try putting some Burt's bees hand salve on them at night and sleep with socks on. I have only used it on my hands, but it worked really well.

I like the Avon foot creme - I have used that and I do the same thing. Wash/pumice your feet, put the creme on right away and then socks.

I have the burt's bees foot creme and I wore that at night with socks... it's really greasy...

I'm looking for something I can put on them throughout the day too

Restoration Hardware has No-Crack Super Hand Cream. It's unscented, non grreasy feeling and it works for the footies also. I second the slathering it on at night and wearing socks!Chat Icon

Re: Dry Heels

Sleeping with socks will definitely make a difference.

I sleep with them on every nite.......even in the summer. Otherwise I cant fall asleep. Weird, I know.

But every time I get a pedicure, the pedicurist (whom are always different) will always say how soft my feet are. It's quite funny!

Re: Dry Heels

there is a cream by Kerasal. its kind of pricey for a little tube. you can find it in the drugstores in the foot aisle. works well.

also the Dr. scholls for her peppermint cream..comes in a jar. that works pretty well too.

Ped egg
I use this 2x a month and then put any lotion on after and my feet stay soft.

I agree with previous posters try putting lotion or vaseline and sleep with socks on.

Re: Dry Heels

I had the same problem after coming back from my beach vacation last week. I go for weekly pedis and still had them.

They are called fissures and can happen from wearing either flip flops or flat shoes.

So I took matters into my own hands doing this each night:
I took a coarse nail file and filed the dry skin avoiding the cracks, soaked them in Dr. Scholls foot soak, used the vaseline and socks until I went to sleep b/c my feet get too hot.

Then in the morning, DH put liquid bandage in the cracks (how romantic) which was a big help. I didn't lotion in the morning b/c I was slipping out of my shoes.

My feet are 95% better. Hope this helps you b/c it was sooo painful.

Re: Dry Heels

i self pedicure every 2 weeks or so... i ped egg, scrub with a pumice stick, apply some baby oil, then throw on a healthy layer of aquaphor and socks.

I'm actually going for a salon pedicure today...as much as i hate people touching my feet, sometimes i just have to do it. I'm 9 mos preggo and living in flip flops.

These are the three products I have and really like them.

Especially the first and third one. I think they are having a 2 for $20 sale right now.
