Dry face - have tried everything - what gives?

I use a facial scrub.
I use my clarisonic.
I moisturize.
I use argan oil.

My cheeks are dry and flaky and my nose and forehead are like an oil slick. My cheeks still have little pimples on them though.

Am I just supposed to suffer through this? Is there some miracle product out there?

I'm having the same problem but it seems to be getting a little bit better. I pretty much stopped everything I was doing (serums etc), cut down my clairsonic use and started using night cream. I continued with my reg moisturizer during the day. good luck!

You need to get a facial and get a mild peel..i get peels every 2-3 months and it helps, but Im sensitive so I go gentle. I go to Allison at metro modes.Shes the best!!

Re: Dry face - have tried everything - what gives?

I forgot to add I do use a night cream, a nice thick one, lol.

omg i haven't used pink-bottle olay since i was like 25. i used the oil free one when I was pregnant.

wouldn't aquaphor clog pores??

i had a facial about a month ago, and the problem started after that. i haven't had a peel since before i got married. does anyone know if they (peels) are safe in pregnancy (no, i am not pregnant but like to know these things just incase)?

My skin gets ridiculously dry in the winter, I am talking fish scales! I also have very sensitive skin that turns red and breaks out from any cream that is not to its liking!

This is the only thing that really works for me:

First Aid Ultra Repair Cream

I use the clinique DD +... it was way too thick for summer, but my skin (usually super dry) isn't dry at all now.

This is soooo good. I also love the Korres Greek Yogurt Sleeping Facial which is more like a night cream, but my skin is lovely when I use it.

Are you drinking enough water? I find when I have dry skin drinking tons of water helps. Also I use juice beauty green apple peel. That works great to eat away at the dead skin.

Unfortunately I think it's this cold dry weather, I've had to resort to using aquaphor on my face on the dry patches

In the winter I use Bobbi Brown Cleansing Oil to wash my face. I rarely have issue with dry skin anymore. I love this stuff. And is lasts me a really long time.

As for moisturizer...I use different stuff all the time. Right now I'm using something by neutrogena. I also like the sample I got in last month's Ipsy bag = Nourish Organic Face Lotion.

A lot of conventional face cleaners and lotions actually have ingredients in them that can be drying and irritating. I've had much better luck since switching to oil based cleansers. Dr Bronners is great and easy to find at Target. Park Soaps is my favorite, you can find them on Etsy.

Start inside out. Drink more water and eat more oils. I went through that and no matter what I did on the outside, things changed when I was more hydrated.
