Drinking and TTC

So I've seen some posts lately that say that you can't drink during your cycle. My doctor never mentioned this. Now while I am not a have drinker, I do enjoy a glass of wine here and there and have not thought about it. Am I hurting the process by drinking??

I've only been told not to drink starting at transfer. Unless you are drinking excessively IMO it's fine

Re: Drinking and TTC

I drank a glass of wine every night up until my transfer. After the transfer, not a drop. Even when DH did the trigger shot at midnight, I drank an entire glass of wine beforehand just to calm my nerves.

I think everyone should do what they're comfortable with

my dr said 'everything in moderation' when i asked about drinking. When i pressed and said is it ok for me to drink more than 1 or 2 drinks on occasion, he said it was (i can drink a good amount)
So.. for the past 2 years, i've continued to drink as usual. If i couldn't drink while ttc'ing, it would've added a lot more stress to the process. But if my RE had said not to, i would've stopped.

i think it's ok for you to have a drink, unless you can't due to meds or if the dr specifically says not to. But thats ME, and what i'm comfortable with. YOU have to decide what you're comfortable with Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've only done IUI's so far and my dr never said anything about not drinking. I don't think we could be doing any harm as long as we're not binge drinking!

coffee's hard! i managed to nix the second cup, but switching to tea??? my life would fall apart as i'm pretty sure i'd get fired Chat Icon

drinking? the dr. said not to worry about a glass of wine with dinner or tying one on here and there. it takes the edge off a bad day and can't be any worse than the stress.
