dream interpretation question

Okay last night I had a dream that my tooth fell out. I forgot what that means, so when I told my mom she got VERY upset - i think it signifies death?

But the thing is, the tooth in my dream was just a crown and my crown actually did fall out about a week ago and i had to get it put back in. I have been very aware of it since then so that is why i dreamed about it. . .

Do you believe that dreams are just mirrors of our real lives? OR do you think the symbolism of dreams is more important?

Sometimes I think that dreams we have are just coincidences and we look into them too much and make them more than what they really are..just dreams.
Other times, maybe when you are going through certain things in your life, I think that dreams are your sub conscience talking to you. Reminding you of things that what were, what is, or what could have been.
