Drawing the privacy line
Where is yours?
I assume no, NO privacy whatsoever here. I have caught myself in the past, wanting to post about family or my job and taking it to FM instead.
I'm pretty clear on where that line is drawn - I try never to discuss negative aspects of my family, my husband or my job. I never discuss my sex life with anyone other than my husband - ever.
That way I'll never be surprised when someone knows me or my family, and cause me to be concerned about things I might have posted in the past.
My husband knows I post here and elsewhere and has no problem with it whatsoever. If I was posting explicit details about him, that would probably change.
I do post pictures however, and I know there are people here who won't do that. I do post the name of my town but never my street, pictures of the house, or my house #. I'll also post the town I work in but never the company.
Where do you draw the line?

Re: Drawing the privacy line
I have a simple privacy philosophy. I don't post anything that I don't want anyone to know about. And it works for me.

This is pretty much how I go about it also.

Re: Drawing the privacy line
there have been one or two times that I was really ****** about something-dating back to LIF that I may have posted something that could have been used against me. As a general rule I try to keep my friendship/marriage/family issues, particularly the negative ones to myself or share them IRL or possibly by FM. I try to stay very aware to the fact that this is a public forum & is just as powerful as posting my dirty laundry on a billboard on the side of a highway.

I try not to post personal details about my life or my FH's life ( I know he wouldn't appreciate it). I've seen too many people who have had lurkers come in a make a mess of their personal lives.

Re: Drawing the privacy line
I've become more careful over time. After seeing poster after poster discover that they had a lurker, I realized that I should be more careful. So I'm sure there are things from way back in the day that could come back to haunt me, but now I try to be more careful.
There is definitely a line. I do post pics though, I don't have a problem with that.
