Dr left a message from bloodwork
I just got home from work and there was a message from my doctor saying she wants me to call her to discuss my bloodwork. This was my first bloodwork (all the basics plus CF, HIV, etc). They're closed for the weekend so I'm starting to freak out. I dont even know what to think besides one of the big tests came up positive. Did anyone's doctor call them with their results?

For my 1st bloodwork tests the dr. called to tell me the results and everything was OK. After that they only called if something was off.

Re: Dr left a message from bloodwork
I can tell you my doc called earlier in the week to tell me my Fragile X came back inconclusive, but told me about 100 times in our 2 minute conversation, not to worry and it happens a lot. I retook the test today and will know the result in 14 days They said it takes a long time for that specific test. Anyway, my point is that either they could be checking in or sometimes the tests are clearly inconclusive. It could be something like that. I hate when docs leave messages like that before a weekend when they are going to be closed!

Re: Dr left a message from bloodwork
Same thing happened to me. I was left wondering all weekend, but if it was really something serious they would have tried harder to get in touch with you, or left more details and possibly instructions. So just try to not make yourself crazy. In my case I had a uti and had to go on antibiotics. It could also be that they call everyone even if there isn't a problem.

Re: Dr left a message from bloodwork
My MD called after my initial bloodwork - turns out my TSH level was a little elevated and they wanted my to see an endocronologist to see if I should go on meds - which isn't a big deal at all. Try not to worry

Re: Dr left a message from bloodwork
My dr. called me after my bloodwork... turns out that because I'm of European descent I am a carrier for a disease. He said that there is a one in 25 chance that the baby could actually get it, and that's only if Brian was a carrier.
He said that if we wanted to be certain if she had the disease or not, then Brian should take a blood test, but we opted not to do it. If that's the road that He wants us to take, then so be it. I really had the test done to see what our world was ahead of us, and that was it.
Better to be prepared in my book than not....

Re: Dr left a message from bloodwork
Thanks everyone! I'm going to go with what most of you said and assume it isnt too bad to get through the weekend. There are so many days that wierd things happen and the only way I get through is by reading this forum. I dont know what I'd do without it!!
