Dr Browns bottle help

How do you know when it is time to switch nipples on the bottles? DD is only 5 weeks old, but it seems like it is taking longer for her to eat and she is working really hard on sucking. She takes breaks while sucking and won't even let you take the bottle out of her mouth. Could it be time to switch the next size nipple?

My DD is younger, but 5 weeks seems early to switch to the next nipple. Have you made sure they're not clogged?

Re: Dr Browns bottle help

The problem i have with the stage one nipple of Dr. Browns is.. i noticed when my DD is sucking the nipple is collapsing and i have to try and get out of her mouth.. when i do get out, i have to unscrew the cap and let the nipple reflate.. is that normal? Never happened on any other bottles with my dd.

not true.

I switched Lily at 2 months because she was working really hard to drink, and falling asleep as a result. And it was taking waaaaay too long to finish the bottle.
If you think she's ready for the next size - give it a try. If it's too much, she'll let you know (believe me Chat Icon )!

The ages they put on there are just suggestions, but every baby is different.
