what is the difference? they both seem to be suitable for infants

I was wondering same thing. I registered for non wide neck bc look easier to hold since babies hands are smaller..I'm esxlusively formula feeding curious what everyone else thoughts or knowledge is bout difference

I prefer the wide neck because they are contoured.

I use the regular ones only if I haven't washed all of the wide necks.

My son, who is now 4 months, likes to grab the groove in the wide neck. For some reason, it's easier for him.

I never had any luck with BFing but he liked them immediately.

If you're BF or plan to switch back and forth, you do the wide neck. The nipple size and shape are closer to what the baby would be used to at the boob. If you're strictly FF, there's really no reason for wide-neck. I use the standard ones.

I started with wide-neck playtex ventaires but DD flipped out on me one day around 2 months old and suddenly only would take standard bottles (I started out BF but had to stop trying because I didn't get a supply and was starving her after weeks of trying to create a supply).

As much as you can try to choose which bottles to give your baby, truth is that they're going to decide for themselves what they like or dislike.
