Dr Arato & Dr Blascyzk

My RE (Dr Kenigsberg) recommended this practice... I think a few of you have used them!

Any opinions?

He also mentioned Three Village OBGYN, but I think I like the idea of a smaller practice.

Thanks!Chat Icon

I'm no help.... I go to three village and really like it there... there is seldom a wait longer than 15 min, and when I had sudden spotting, I was able to get hold of them and come in immediately.

Re: Dr Arato & Dr Blascyzk

I went there for a long time.

I switched from them last year. The nurse there is a total beotch and Dr. B is very laid back and non pro-active.

Here is my story:
I started spotting at week 8 or so. I called them. The sweet nurse said "Even if you are miscarrying there's nothing we can do about it so I don't know what you want." Um OK, not what I needed to hear but fine. Then I had a m/c @ 12 weeks. Dr. B performed a D&C which went very well and he ordered pathology on the "products of conception" which were to take about 3-4 weeks to come in. He told me that my placenta looked like it might be a "molar pregnancy" but don't get worried about that until the pathology results. I went home and researched molar pregnancies of course and was terrified to find out that they can up to 40% of the time result in cancerous tumors and that thorough following up with weekly blood draws and avoiding pregnancy for 6 months is the usual plan of action. Well, I freaked. I waited my 4 weeks and called the office. The sweet nurse responded "Don't call us, we'll call you. It could take 8-12 weeks for pathology". I told her that I was told 3-4 and that it might have been a MP and maybe I should get bloodwork. She brushed me off. I called the lab myself when I got off the phone with her, a 2 second phone call, and they told me the results were in but they could not release them to me. I flipped. She could have made the same phone call I made. I got the results and I did in fact have a molar pregnancy. I called Dr. Halpert in Smithtown (recommended my melijane) and he had me come in the following day for bloodwork and has taken very good care of me ever since. I wrote a long letter to Dr. B explaining what happened and he was nice enough to call me back but I could not deal with an office brushing me off. I love Personal Women's Care in Smithtown. After being through something like that you need caring doctors and a caring staff and everyone at that office is WONDERFUL. Sorry for my babble but that is my experience with them. Chat Icon

Re: Dr Arato & Dr Blascyzk

Sorry to hijak Chat Icon I switched to Drs Arato and Blasczyk when I was 28 weeks with my DS. I absolutely adore them. Ive had nothing but pleasant experiences with them both. After I had my M/C a few weeks ago they called to see how I was doing a few times. They are very personable and caring.

Mikeswife~ Im sorry you had a bad experience. I agree with you on one aspect. The nurse there can be a total beyotch but I told her to her face and told the docs that I thought she was an insensitive, unprofessional witch and she needs to retire. I never had another problem Chat Icon

Re: Dr Arato & Dr Blascyzk

I also go to Arato & Blascyzk. I love them both! So far I have not had any problems with any of the nurses there. I was going to Dr Patton (they cover for him) and when I needed an emergency c-section Patton was not on call that weekend, Blascyzk was. He came in and explained everything to DH and I and we were so comfortable with him. He called me the next morning to see how I was and to tell me he called the NICU to check on Hayley. Dr Arato came in 2 times to check on me....Dr Patton just gave me a call 2 days after I had her. Dr Arato also delivered both my cousins girls.

I used to go to Dr Halpert for many years and on my 1st pregnancy appointment (when I was preggo w/Hayley) he was so cold...I don't know another way to describe it. He barely acknowledged that my husband was in the room with us, he didn't tell me things to do or not to do. I then switched to Dr Patton on my friend's recommendation.

Fm me if you have any questions!!

Good luck!!!! Chat Icon
