DR. appt tonight- Zofran question

I have my monthly appt tonight (15w) with the dr. I get to hear the nuggets heartbeat, which will calm me since it has been a month since we last heard it and saw the LO. I have been nauseaous since 6 weeks. It is all day and night and it is making me crazy. Does anyone know if he could prescribe something? I know Zofran is for serious cases with puking, and that isn't me, but is Zofran an anit-nausea or anit- vomit medication? I am also going to get info about the swine flu vaccine because I am starting to change my mind about not getting it I would love for a suprise sono and to find out if it is a or but I doubt that will happen- it would make my icky feeling better though

i find that the zofran helps with being nauseas and vomitting, if you really nauseas even though you not vomitting your probably not eating right/enough so i'm sure you dr will prescribe it for you. Its not gonna hurt any, just make you alot happier.

my doc put me on zofran bc I lost 5 pounds in less than 2 weeks from vomitting. I still feel nauseous at times, it really helps keep me from vomitting

For me, it was more of a anti-vomit medication, I was still pretty nauseous but I could force down water and light foods and it wouldn't come back up. I was still feeling awful most of the day. I was only taking 4mg a day, but I was too paranoid to take more. It's a fairly new drug and like most not adequately tested on pregnant women.

From what I've experienced and what I've heard doctors readily prescribe zofran at the slightest complaint of nausea. I've met with 3 docs since pregnancy, the only one that scorned me for being on it was the one I stayed with.

I would try to see if they had non-prescription advice to help with the nausea. If your holding down water and some food, IMHO, I wouldn't take the meds.

My OB wouldn't prescribe it for me. I never puked, but I was very nauseated. She didn't feel it was necessary.

If you are nauseaous, but not puking, most likely they won't prescribe it for you.

I had lost 13lbs and had ketones in my urine before I was given the prescription. Mainly it allowed me ot keep something down

I took 8 mg 2 times a day of Zofran from 6 weeks until 16 weeks. It helped with my nausea big time. I couldn't even throw up, I had the dry heaves so bad. It was a life saver. And when my m/s reared its ugly head again in my 3rd trimester, I got it again...My son was born perfectly fine...

I never threw up but was so sick I barely ate and lost 7 pounds- my doctor perscribed it for me and it helped.

I wasn't an everyday puker, I was a HORRID dry heaver (like every 10 minute dry heaver, it hurt) but I dry heaved b/c I couldn't eat anything...when I started to throw up my water, it was time to go on.......
