Down Payment or lower mortgage?
The house we are considering is listed as the bank giving 3% towards the downpayment, but I'd like to renegotiate this to lower the asking price. Any pros and cons to either option?

I would let them give you 3% towards the downpayment. You can offer less on the house yourself, no?

I would take the 3%- it is like getting a lower price on the house
you can still put down what ever you planned on on top of that
