Down Home with the Neely's

I just bought their cookbook a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE it!!!

So far, I've made the baked beans, the wings, the barbeque sauce, and the chicken. I also made some of the desserts and some other sides. There's tons of recipes in there, and all the ones I tried are really good!

I can't wait to try the red velvet cake recipe, and the chocolate flourless cake.

Anyone else have this book?

I don't have their cookbook but I'm always DVR'ing their show on the Food Network. They make the yummiest dishes!!! I actually made one of their sides tonight - Memphis Sweet Potato Fries. They came out delish!!

I love watching them, but I always think...GET A ROOM ALREADY!

But I saw their Bio on the food channel and that changed my opinion on them.

Part of the book is the path they took to get where they are. They were HS sweethearts, broke up, each got married and divorced (gina had one daughter) and then met again at their 10 year reunion.

Before I got the book, I used to wonder if it was an act for the show, but after reading what Pat wrote about his life before and after Gina, I totally get why they're like that.

You should definately get this book! It's worth it just for the barbeque sauce alone! Some of the stuff is a little weird, like barbeque spaghetti, but most of the recipes are amazing.

I will definately post when I make the red velvet cake. I usually make Paula Deen's but her recipe is very oily, so I'm definately trying their recipe soon.

The pictures are hysterical too, escpecially thier high school pictures.
