Double stroller dilemma...

DD will be 3 years old when DC2 is born. I am debating about buying the City Mini Double GT, but they are just so expensive!! Chat Icon The weight limit is 100lbs total so DD1 would be able to ride in it for awhile, but I just keep going back & forth about the investment. Anyone have any opinions for or against? TIA!

What about the City Select? This way you can use it as a double or a single. It's something for when your oldest is old enough and doesn't need the stroller all the time and you don't need to lug the double around.

Ds 1 was 27 mos when Ds 2 was born. I got the City Mini Double and I still use it a lot almost 3 years later.

I would think about what you would use it for. We used it for Disney 2x and for walks, places like the zoo, NYC, etc.

ETA - Another option could be a sit and stand.

Double stroller dilemma...

DS will be 3 when new baby comes. Since i have an uppa baby i will be getting the thing he can stand on. I am also considering a sit and stand. I dont want to spend 200+ on a double stroller i will probably use for a year or so.

Depends on how much you love using a stroller.

Mine were 1.5 yrs apart & I used a double stroller only for a year (I got a cheaper one).

I see lots of 5& 6 year olds in a stroller, but my almost 3 year old hasn't used one in over a year (zoo trips & disney included).

Personally, in the beginning, it was tough with a double stroller, so I went out with an ergo & single stroller. Started using the double at 4-5 months for the younger child (so my older was almost 2).

My DS is 3 and barely uses a stroller. If I had a 2nd I would probably go with the sit/stand one.

I am torn about this too. Like you (if all goes well) my DS will also be around 3 when DC #2 arrives. I do use the stroller a lot when it is warm out with DS, although I know he may be getting too big for it... we will go for walks around the neighborhood often. So this is why I am leaning towards getting a double stroller. I think if you are probably not going to use it alot then go with a sit and stand.

I have the single GT but got the regular city mini double, I needed a double but figured they would prpb spend less time in the double than they did in the single so the tires werent going to make a big difference and plus, the GT was heavier. My DD's are 3 and 1

Double stroller dilemma...

I ended up getting the citi mini Double after much debate.. I didn't want to spend the money on even the regular citi mini double.. but it is so much better/easier to operate than the sit and stand I was gifted that after MUCH (too much debate) I went for it.. I ended up buying it on Craiglist 2nd hand for a fraction of the price..

DD will be 3 next month and still likes to sit in the stroller, the problem I found with the sit and stand is that they don't face the same direction, which made my DD unhappy and the seats are just not very comfortable for the baby.. by next summer though DD may not want to use the stroller in which case I will use the sit and stand stroller.. but since I didn't pay full price for the citi mini that's ok by me.
