Double stroller and flying
What is easier going through the airport... Double stroller for my 2 year old and baby or two umbrella strollers? Will Continental gate check a double? Is it easy to go through security? We are going to Aruba in Feb and still debating the best thing to bring. We are not taking a carseat b.c we have a taxi cab that has carseats and once we get there everything is within walking distance. My 2.5 year old still sits so well in the stroller so i need one for him. Plus, some stuff could be a bit far to walk to so having the stroller for both is necessary

Re: Double stroller and flying
If you think that they will both be in the stroller most of the time together take the double. The double is easier to manuever in the airport because one person can push the stroller and the other have the luggage and carry-on stuff.
When you have two single strollers you really need 2 sets of hands to push them.

I agree. Plus you have to fold it up to go through security anyway. Faster & easier to fold up one stroller!

Re: Double stroller and flying
American Airlines made me take my sleeping kid OUT of the stroller (Citimini single) to weigh it & see if it is under 20 lbs.
I was LIVID!!!
They (AA) will not gate check a stroller over 20 lbs (or so they told me). I'd check in advance by calling Continental.

We haven't had a problem with Jetblue or Southwest with gate checking the double stroller, but if some airlines have restrictions I would give them a call ahead of time.
We liked the double because one of us could push it and the other could maneuver the luggage and stuff.
