DS is 9 weeks old and I just called the pediatrician this week with the same concern. Your instincts are usually right so I'm sure it is gas as you suspect. DS had this terrible cry and the tears were pouring down his face, it was killing me seeing him like that. Sometimes he lets out a one second cry when I hear him trying to pass gas. It's the 2nd time this really bad cry happened in the past couple of weeks. I tried every position bouncing him and pushing his legs into his belly and massaging his belly to help with the gas. It was definitely gas pain and it sounds like the same thing with your baby. We gave him milicon drops and it definitely helped. I also gave him a warm bath and that helped to calm him and soothe him. I also find that walking around with him laying on his belly in my arms helps the gas come out.
