Has anyone put a full dormer on there house? what was the ball park figure to do it.

My sister had a ranch and had a dormer put on and it cost about $175,000 and they new the person. Then a friend of mine has a cape and they got prices between $150,000 & $225,000.

A lot depends upon how much you are changing. We changed all the siding on the house and the plywood underneath the siding. It also depends how many bathrooms / what types of fixtures, what types of windows, how much square footage, etc. I would say about $150,000 (we just added another floor to our house but we have a split so it's a different situation).

You can say that again. Also the lady I babysit for just got a price for a dormer (a BIG dormer) and she got a price of $520,000  A lot more then she expected. It's crazy here in NY.

DH's cousins dormered their cape...they STARTED at $150k but she said that by the time all was said and done, it was closer to $200k.
