Totally not staying true to the books but it's still amazing!!! I thought I would be upset if they didn't stick to the books but Alan Ball has put such a great spin on the spirit of the series that I love it as much as I loved the books.

Ugh...I can't read this thread. Just wanted to vent about how we DVR'd it and something happened half way through. It kept skipping and the screen was turning black.

around 946pm the same thing happened while watching it on hbo, it went in and out then black!!!

That happened to us too. We switched from HD to regular HBO then it was fine.

I thought it sucked! Sookie annoys me, she is so whiney. The girl Bill changed is a waste. I think Marianne killed miss janette. And the church people are CRAZY. Im hoping it gets better. Upside, Im glad Lafayette isn't dead....yet.

Last nights episode was ehhh. But i didnt think the first episode was going to be WOW.i rmember last seasons first episode wasnt fantastic either. No way am i gving up on this show. My hardest decision is to figure out who i love the most, jason, bill, eric or sam. lol.

Wasn't crazy about last night's episode. While I understand the spin, I wish it would stay truer to the book. When it gets too far-fetched it just loses me. I hope it gets better as the season goes on.

I love the show, but why did they have to deviate so much from the books?? The books have great story lines! I really hate the vampire that Bill created. What's the point? And why is Tara such a main character? But, I find Sam's back story interesting ... do you think Charlaine Harris is consulted when they are filimg the show?

same here. i callled cablevision and they were no help.
