DH and I are looking into this too. We're going to see if a soup kitchen or something similar needs a stove and fridge....

Habitat for Humanity Restore in Ronkonkoma takes them...
Newer appliances... Our fridge is about 10 yrs old and he said they probably wouldn't take that.

I've been there several times. They DO have some appliances that are relatively old, and some more than 10 years old. I think it really depends on if they work or not.
