Ugh... I feel like no matter what I tell my mom she doesn't listen Chat Icon
Yes, she's my mother and has ALWAYS been like this. I love her beyond words and we get along great.
She's also a Jewish mother. Although I feel like all moms, no matter what nationality or religeon are the same

We're working on eating therapy with Mason. My mother thinks it's great that DS will eat a lollipop b/c she always gives him one. I tell her... that's great, he's cured... even though I don't want him eating one.
She's always been laid back with things. Always rolls her eyes and I'm always overreacting.
Oh, and even if you say you're not hungry it doesn't matter.
If DS is perfectly happy coloring at the table when we're out to dinner offering him a lolly or some bread will make it better. I tell her no, he's fine. Doesn't work.
Then DH finishes his food and my mom knows and insists he's still hungry and must try her chicken. Even though he's polite and says no thank you a huge cut of chicken is on DH's plate.

It's always like this. I don't eat red meat, but if she waves a steak in my face I'll eat it. Now she does it to DS and DH.

My DH does love her and we do laugh about it though.
