does your EBF baby sleep thru the night?
when DS was 3 wks old, i started to give him 1 bottle of formula at night so he can sleep a little long. right now he's almost 8 wks old and i want to take out the formula.
does your baby sleep thru the night? if so, how old was DC?

My baby has NEVER slept through the night. The whole formula/solids thing is a load of hogwash if you ask me- I tried everything.
If you want to EBF- don't let losing sleep keep you from it. At this age, MOST babies aren't sleeping through the night.

We used to give DD about 3 oz. of formula right before bed to help with reflux, sleep and because I never seemed to have enough milk. But by 12 weeks, we started phasing it out and since then she has gotten no formula and still sleeps through the night. Good luck!

Well DS is formula fed, always has been and he is 10 months and does not sleep through the night at all, so there goes that theory!

Ugh... no.... DD is 10 months now and STILL DOESNT SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT.

Mine started sleeping through the night around 4 months.
He would nurse at 7pm and then I would put him down. He would sleep until about 5:30.

DD was/is EBF and she started sleeping through the night at about 5 months... she's 9 months now and still sleeping through the night

ITA. It really all depends on the baby. And my DS has also never slept through the night.

I EBF and DD started sleeping 6hr stretches around 8wks. Then she started teething so sleep cycles got chaiotic at times.

My dd was sleeping 6-8 hours up until a few weeks ago. Now she's been doing 5 hours.

yes. from around 4 months, she did 6:30-5 AM, then back to sleep till 7, this went on for about a month, then around 5 months she jsut stopped waking for it. sleeps 7-7, no CIO involved. my ped told me sleepign through the night has nothing to do with food.

Oh wow, that's great. I've heard this also. I've heard it's developmental. Your baby is breastfed? That's great!

yup totally breast fed, but i work and she gets bottles or pumped milk while i'm gone

he sleeps around 10:30-11 and then wake up around 6am, eat, and then back to sleep until about 10am. that was the, last 2 nights. hopefully, this will continue.

DD started sleeping through the night at 6 weeks. I pumped, so her last bottle at night was a little larger than her "regular" bottles - and that seemed to do the trick for us.

Both my kids were sleeping 12 hour nights by 3 months old. My first was EBF and my second was only formula fed.

Stilll not sleeping through the night at 25mths!!! EBF for the first year, still BF but takes drinks from sippy cup too. It seems to depend on the child.

Ummm...no definately not. I used to give DD a supplement of formula at night to have her sleep longer, but that stopped working so I went back to EBF.
Although what Ive figured out recently is that it isnt the breastfeeding that is making her wake up so much, its that she doesnt like to sleep on her back. If we stay awake and watch her on her stomach she will sleep for up to 5 hours, or if we are holding her, but if I put her on her back I cant get more than 2 hours out of her at a time.
Of course the annoying part is that I wont let her sleep on her stomach if Im not watching her so I dont get sleep, and when Im holding her its hard to sleep...so basically Im up every 2 hours at most!! But she doesnt have to eat everytime she gets up.
