Does this mean I can retire?
I called the IRS to get some information. I had to give them all the usual infor SS#, birth date, mothers maiden name favorite color, how I like my steak cooked.....
After I gave all this info she said no you are not you  But I am who I say I am. So after some more questioning she found a problem.
I was informed that the birth date they have on file has me down as about 74 years old I was wondering why I was getting mail from the AARP.
I called the SS office and this mistake was made in 1984 when my SS card was issued. How come I am 74 years old and I am only being invited to join the AARP now.
Do you think I can retire if I don't have my birth year changed? I want a retirement party.

Sadly that is true.
Retiring is a no go. I have to go to the SS office and change it. The dream was fun while it lasted. Here is to another 40 years of work drink up!!
