does this make sense?
last week i started femara on cd4. was told that I needed to go on Wednesday (cd11) for monitoring and then would trigger. Then we discussed that I would be doing TI.
so today i find out I have something at work Wednesday so there is no way I can go for monitoring that and they only do monitoring M W and F. Called Re and 1st he told me to BD Wednesday in case I O early, then go Friday for monitoring and then we would do IUI on Saturday. So, I was like nooo we have discussed that I am not doing IUI this cycle just TI...so he basically he told me just to start BDing every other day and come in next wednesday (cd18) to check my progesterone levels. Therefore, I would not be triggering and wouldn't have any way to know if the femara has even done anything.
does this seem like it makes sense to you? I really don't want to waste time if I am not even responding to the meds.

Re: does this make sense?
Your RE only monitors 3 days per week?? There is no way they can see you another day?

I see dr. b but live and work in the city. His city office only monitors 3 days a week. I called him basically to see if there were other options of when I could go...but that is what he told me to do?! I was confused bc I figured a RE would insist I get monitored.

Re: does this make sense?
I would go in Friday for monitoring. Tell him you want to be extra cautious and certain that the Femara is working. I would BD before that to be sure you don't surge earlier. I would use an OPK. Do you have PCOS? If everything looks good Friday, you can still trigger.

Re: does this make sense?
I agree with PP go for monitoring Friday. I use to see Dr. B and was monitored a lot in the NYC office because it was just easier, but i strongly suggest going directly to him, because there is a huge disconnect between offices.
Good luck !

yes, I have PCOS so I didn't think the OPKs would be accurate.
I guess I will BD tonight and Wednesday to cover my bases and then go Friday AM to be monitored.
Thanks ladies!!

I think that's the best plan given the circumstances.
Good luck!

Re: does this make sense?
unfortunately thats why you cant always depend on seeing him exclusively out of NYC. is there any way you can go tomorrow or Thursday to woodbury? they'll moitor you there any day of the week (although they will tell you they have specific days.. its not really true). i also remember going to NYC for monitoring any day of the week, are you SURE it's m/w/f? im wondering if thats a new rule or if i always went on a m/w/f and never realized it.
