And they could have vendors who sell baby things like hats or clothes or fun shoes ... We could meet vendors from the site too

This
I can't remember seeing any "official" event, but people do plan gtg or something like a baby shower where you plan it on your own and buy something off each others registries.
That would be fun and I would participate!
