Does Green always mean infection?
I see a lot of people on here say if it's clear then it's fine, but green means infection. I don't feel it necessarily means infection. Honestly, my boys usually run clear boogers when fighting a cold and then will get some crusty green ones once in a while. No fever, acting fine, etc. Just seems to happen towards the end or if I haven't cleaned their nose in a while. I feel the same with myself as well when I'm sick. It's usually towards the end when I'm getting all the mucous out. Yes, if it's constantly green, DS is not acting himself and especially fever then I will keep him home and take him to the Ped. Now I'm at home so it's different, but when DS was in daycare the rules were had to be fever free for 24 hours, no diarrhea, pink eye, vomiting, etc. Anything else they will take. He's in preschool so for a runny nose he still goes as long as he's acting fine.

Re: Does Green always mean infection?
My Dr told me it does not necessarily mean infection. The color is not a true indicator of what is going on. You can have green/yellow mucus and it can be just viral And you can also have clear mucus with a bacterial infection...
