does everyone get a growth sono?
my dr. hasn't mentioned it and i dont think they plan on doing one

My practice doesnt do them. I did get one at L&D at the hospital though. I wouldn't worry if you don't get one.

I think most doctors don't do growth sono's unless they are concerned about the baby.
I thought my last sono was going to be at 28 weeks to check for my low lying placenta, but I had to go for one yesterday since I passed my due date.
For the most part, I think if you are having an uneventful pregnancy (the kind you want to have), the last sonogram is at 20 weeks for theLevel II.

My office does them so I did have one but not all of them do. You would have had one already since you are almost there!

My doctor only does them if you are measuring big or small. I had one b/c I was measuring small.

Not all offices do. The only reason I did is because I had gestational diabetes and they wanted to make sure he wasn't too big.

They're administered only if necessary or if you ask the doctor that you'd like one...like I did She was cool about it and we had one last evening.

My doctor gave me the option at 34 weeks. She said she only requires that a patient gets one if there is a problem. I wouldn't worry if you do not get one.
My doctor also said that when they estimate the weight at the growth sono it could be a pound of either way.

I am having one in less than two weeks when I will be 36 weeks - nothing is wrong with the baby and there are no concerns. She said I am measuring perfectly. My doctor likes to do them so she can see the position of the baby and see how much it weighs.
