Does anyone's landscaper leave slight damage

We have a PVC fence with beautiful arbor. I noticed our last landscaper scraped it slightly getting in our yard. We now hired someone my husband knows and the scrapes are worse. Also, we need those plastic covers on our basement windows. If I don't take them off when he comes, they are sliced. I just bought a new grill cover and the whole bottom is ripped. I didn't want to hire someone we knew because I knew I would feel funny saying something about things. This was an issue for me. If it was a stranger doing our lawn, I would ask them to be more careful. But our fence has black marks and chips on it, brand new grill cover all ripped from one end to the next, and our basement covers. I have to go in the wet yard today now before leaving to remove the basement covers in case he comes or I will have to replace them. Is this the norm?

i have PVC fence as well, my landscaper put marks on it but it came off with the powerwasher. he did dent my brand new gutters tho

i would tell him to be careful near the fence bc you noticed marks and you have heard form other people that the equipment can damage it. if they still are breaking things after asking them to be careful around certain things i would find a new one or just do it yourself.

ive yet to find a landscaper who doesnt damage something at some point. i even had one 'crash' his lawnmower into my car lol

Yes! They kept breaking off our sprinkler heads, then they charged us to move them so it wouldn't happen again even though they installed the sprinkler. I was like seriously ?
